"Ever since I was a kid, going to my first race with my Grandpa, I've known I was going to drive race cars full time."

Ian Baas, pronounced "Boss" was born in Noblesville Indiana on January 9th 1983. As a child Ian always had dreams of racing as he lived only 30 minutes from the capital of motor racing. Since the age of 18 Ian has been climbing up the motorsports ladder starting in Formula Ford 1600. Since then Ian has been racing and succeeding in formula cars as well as GT cars. Competing in a wide variety of cars has helped Ian become competitive in the top levels of motor sport.

Ian is dedicated to his sport and has become well respected throughout the motor sport community. Ian is aggressive and focused not only behind the wheel but also out of the car. He shows a calm and levelheaded maturity far beyond his years.

Career Summary:
*2008 Ian teamed up with APR motorsport to drive a VW GTi in the Koni Challenge Series, a brand new team with a brand new car! He will be in the car #171 Co-driving with Sportscar newcomer/Karting Star Dion Von Moltke look for the pair to be a winning combination in 2008.

*2007 Ian was once again racing primarily in America. driving the ultra competitive #18 STaSIS engineering Audi A4 in the Speed World Challenge Touring Car Series. Ian has also teamed up with Franbacher Loles and At Speed Motorsports to drive a Porsche GT3 Cup in most of the 12 races in the Grand American Sportscar Series.

* 2006 Ian began the season on high note by Winning the GT class in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona with TPC racing in the #36 Ajilon Consulting Porsche GT3 cup alongside Randy Pobst, Spencer Pumpelly and Michael Levitas. The team finished a remarkable 9th overall out of the 70-car field. Ian Joined TPC Racing on five other occasions in 2006 and reached the podium two more times at Watkins Glen 6Hr. and VIR 250. Ian's full season ride was in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland with Farnbacher Racing. Living with the team in Germany during the 10 race series Ian sharpened his skills in the most competitive sports car series in the world. Along with Carrera Cup Deutschland, Ian competed in three Porsche Super Cup races. Ian Finished his season in Europe with one trip to the podium and three top 10 finishes.

* 2005 Ian competed with the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) driving for Alex Job racing, four time defending champions. Ian drove the #24 911 GT3 RSR alongside road racing veteran Randy Pobst for 5 of the 10 races. The other 5 races, Ian drove with veteran driver, Darren Law. Ian finished 2nd at both Mosport and Atlanta's Petit LeMans. He had 3 top 10 finishes and 2 top 5 finishes. He finished 9th overall in the championship and was honored to receive the Founder's Cup for excellence in driving by a privateer entry.

* 2004 saw Ian compete in the USFF2000 Zetec Pro Series with Cape Motorsports, Van Deiman Factory Team. Ian's preparation and determination showed by earning 2 top 5's and 9 top 10's To finish eighth overall. In addition to his Rookie Season in the USFF2000 Zetec Pro Series, Ian earned a ride in the highly competitive Vintage Open Wheel Monoposto Series driving a 1979 March Formula Atlantic. Earning 4 wins in 6 races won Ian the Championship.

* 2003, driving with Cape Motorsports, Ian competed in the brand new Zetec FF2000 in the highly competitive Southern Region SCCA. In the new Zetec, placed by SCCA in Formula Atlantic and running against cars with as much as a thirty horse power advantage, Ian earned: two firsts, a third, one fourth and a fifth place finish, qualifying him for SCCA's National Run-Offs."In keeping with my goal to drive professionally we decided to skip the SCCA
